New guidelines released on the management of sepsis and septic shock

The Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) released two new guidelines on the management of sepsis and septic shock today, March 23rd.

These guidelines provide clinicians with updated recommendations based on new clinical evidence published since the previous guidelines and new guidance for questions not previously addressed. In addition to new recommendations regarding screening, antimicrobial therapy, and haemodynamic management, each guideline also considers low-resource settings and are accompanied with usability materials to help treatment at the bedside.
