25/06/2026Earthquake in Venezuela – Statement from the PresidentA series of major earthquakes have affected Venezuela causing considerable damage and the loss of many lives. Our sisters and brothers in Venezuela are currently dealing with the major aftermath and while the news is still incoming and the scenario is evolving we are aware of the significant losses and dramatic events. We are confident of the capacity of the Venezuelan authorities and the competency of our colleagues as well as the resilience of the Venezuelan people. We trust in their quick recovery. While our thoughts and prayers are with Venezuela and the region, we call for international assistance to our colleagues in the affected areas. It is during these moments that WFICC’s mission to secure the highest quality care for patients needs to be at the centre of a truly collaborative international response to this natural disaster. In making our contribution, we will focus on what we do best – working to ensure that people are connected. We encourage you to help in any way you can. Let’s all continue our prayers for our brothers and sisters in the region and hope for a speedy recovery of all those who are affected. Please follow the links below to keep updated with news from our colleagues and friends in the Sociedad Venezolana de Medicina Criticahttps://www.instagram.com/svmedcritica/reelsSociedad Venezolana de Medicina Crítica | FacebookBack to News
