Ricard Ferrer, MD, PhD.

Ricard Ferrer, MD, PhD., is Head of the Intensive Care Department at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. He is Principal Investigator of the SODIR research group at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute and an actgive member of many research networks including CIBERES, EDUSEPSIS, EGIS among others. He serves as Deputy Editor of Intensive Care Medicine. Dr. Ferrer is Associate Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Co­Director of the Severe Infections and Sepsis Masterclass of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).
A past council-member of the WFICC, his role as WFICC Ambassador includes involvement in Sepsis Initiatives, and ESICM Liaison for the WFICC.
