Emily Tegnell, MD

Emily Tegnell, MD, is a consultant anesthesiologist and intensivist at
Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. She completed her
specialist training in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine in 2021. Dr.
Tegnell has extensive experience in global and humanitarian medicine, with
clinical work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia. Her
academic interests center on medical education and the early identification and
management of critical illness, both locally and globally. In Sweden, she
contributes to continuing professional development through publications and
recurring educational symposia at national conferences. She is actively involved
in training physicians across specialties and junior doctors, with a strong
commitment to education and global health equity. Her role as WFICC
Ambassador includes the mapping of worldwide critical care training courses
and a collaborative project with WFCCN to elaborate curriculum for training
course.
